Lower voices need to make sure they keep in time. Also, if you lose your part, don't jump right back in where you last knew you were. Because it sounds really choppy :( I loved the saxophone's little part near the bottom of page 1. And Codie screaming Hoy definitely just seemed random since nobody else was doing it. Trumpets seemed a bit unsure of themselves on the higher notes. At times, the harmony parts in the background seem to have better control then the lead instruments at the time. The ending piccolo solo was much better than the first one. Make sure percussion ends on time! : )
Danielle, I agree with your assessment of the piece. We do need to build some confidence among the group. I think that practicing more and coming prepared to class will help this situation.
I agree about the percussion ending on time. I think we have improved a little bit. It's ashame there's no more "Hoy!" or ratchet part but we'll get used to the new transition.
